Montana Audubon has created a training on how to survey Great Blue Heron Rookeries.
The Great Blue Heron Rookery survey season will take place from May 1- June 10.

Get Started
Please review materials prior to the training.
Step 1: Can you identify a Great Blue Heron?
Step 4: Watch the online training video.
​Step 2: Read over the fact sheet and protocol, above.
Step 5: See what survey sites are Available.
Step 3: Download Survey 123 and become familiar with the application.
Step 6: You cannot survey a site without emailing Peter at peter@mtaudubon.org or Carmen at carmen@mtaudubon.org
